Funeral 411TM
the information you want and need

On a lighter note

Have you ever heard someone say "he's a basket case." A basket case??? Where does that come from?

Way back when, when people died they were taken from the place where they died, not on a stretcher or cot, as they are today. Something was used that resembled a huge basket and as you've guessed, that person was referred to as a basket case.
Someone has said something like, "Don't wait until my funeral to say nice things about me. I won't be able to hear them and I'd rather hear them now!"

Here's one way we can appreciate people now -

Take a piece of paper and write something simple, like -
    "You are appreciated" or
      "I appreciate you"
and give it to someone you appreciate.

Some of us may be a little shy about that kind of thing, so we can just leave it where they'll see it or send it by email or snail mail.

If we want to go the extra step, we can write "I appreciate you because ________________________________________________________."

And chances are pretty good that these thoughtful little notes or emails will be kept! (and it'll make us feel good too.)
